Animal cruelty is the suffering of a non-human animal inflicted by a human for purposes other than self defense. Cruelty includes inflicting harm on the animal for personal amusement and entertainment. Cruelty is sometimes caused by people who simply do not know that what they are doing is hurting an animal. However, it can also be caused by people who have been abused themselves. Please do not attempt to stop animal cruelty yourself as this may present a danger to your life. Those who find the need to hurt animals could potentially have the need to hurt humans as well. The best way to help these animals get the care they need is by calling an animal control center. Often times, animals are also abused by neglect. They are not given the proper amount of food or water that is essential to survival. Because these animals are often in misery for so long, they can experience as much pain as one who was physically harmed. Other forms of animal cruelty involve sports such as dog fighting and cockfighting, large breeding facilities that force constant mating of dogs for the sake of selling their puppies, factory farms that force animals to live in harsh conditions, and even race tracks that force horses and dogs to get injected by certain drugs that will decrease their life span for the sake of winning. As little as $0.68 can feed one animal per day. Help us save and protect animals by donating now.

Human trafficking is the selling and/or trading of a human for the purposes of sexual slavery, forced labor, or commercial sexual exploitation for the individual who is doing the trafficking. Human trafficking may include extraction of organs or tissues in the form of surrogacy, ova removal, and pregnancy within a forced marriage. Traffickers use force, coercion, kidnapping, fraud, deceit, and vulnerable socioeconomic status in order to keep the victims under their control. Human trafficking deprives victims of fundamental rights to dignity and freedom. Victims who are found in situations like these often do not attempt to escape when they are being held against their will. Fear of deportation, violence against loved ones, limited language skills, and unfamiliarity with the area may prevent the victim from attempting to escape. Victims also experience poor mental and physical health due to enslavement and forced drug use. Feelings of hopelessness often arise due to no monetary income, no proof of identification, limited sills and limited language. These feelings of hopelesness, especially in children, may lead to a traumatic bond with their victimizers, a phenomenon called Stockholm Syndrome. The danger of Stockholm Syndrome is that the victim experiencing the trauma chooses to not speak out. 'We Are Survivors Foundation' strives to raise constant awareness of this serious issue that not only exists in neighboring and third world countries, but in major cities such as Los Angeles. We urge you to call the local police department should you notice suspicious activity. We will continuously provide information on noticing such activity and of typical trafficker-victim relationships. Look out for young children and teens standing alone on the street with a man or woman watching them from afar. If you would like to help end trafficking by raising awareness and taking preventative measures, donate now and help millions of children eliminate this horrific trauma from their lives.
